A letter written home to his father by Dick Nevard while he was in training at Camp Brandon, Manitoba. Post marked March 9th, 1943. Notice the Knights of Columbus stationary and envelope.
All written in pencil in great detail it is an interesting look into the daily life of army training. I've got quite a stack of these letters.
History as such is important. All of our emails and blog postings will disappear never to be found in a box in the attic/garage/barn. I've considered that I should print some of my better writing and leave it in a box for my grandchildren. As a good example blogger/blogspot is essentially a dead platform. I still use it, too, but one day we might get a warning or it might just be gone.
